Anyone who would like to be added to view my weight loss entries, let me know. I'm doing more of those now than anything else. I'm making them as motivational and silly as I can, because even though losing weight is a serious subject, you need a little silliness to break it up a little.

things don't always go as planned

I left at 4am to drive down to the beach. My aim was to see the sun rise. I was so excited to get a photo opportunity that I didn't check the weather. I knew there were supposed to be afternoon storms here in Richmond but nothing was going to stop me from going. I'm glad I did, in the end. The drive there was amazing. The drive back was okay... most of the time I sat there talking to myself and singing to the radio.
I did learn one thing: trips are no fun alone.

The sunrise was most beautiful here.

a storm rages behind these blue eyes )

I got some blurry pictures before I got to the tunnel.

Scary >_<

I got there in one piece. Trying to find a parking spot was difficult (the deck was closed) so I just parked next to a store. If they caught me I could have been fined $125. Woot.
When I arrived, I jumped out of the car and almost literally fell back in. It was freezing! I walked down to the shore, but of course it was too cold and much too cloudy to see the sun. Depressed at my good intentioned but miscalculated actions, I went back to my car and fell asleep for about 4 hours.
When I woke up, I ran back out to the shore. It was a bit less chilly but this time I was determined to take more pictures. (At least my hand could hold still this time!)

Walking there.

I was trying to make the best of it.

See the dolphins? I posed with those when I was 9 years old. We still have the picture...lol

Nobody to the right...

Nobody to the left!

At this point, I stretched my arms out and leaned into the wind. I felt like I was a piece of paper. I love the ocean.

Attempt at an artsy shot. That log was pretty cool. I wonder where it came from.

It felt better to keep my back to the wind. I let the wind go through my body and let the chill set in enough for it not to bother me anymore. I love being able to do that. (Does anyone else do that?)

Sea foam.

It was beautiful.

Did I mention that it was windy?

I always wanted to rent one of these as a kid.

This is my general sentiment of traveling 100 miles for (what I felt at first was) nothing.
But it helped me clear my head, so I'm thankful.

Atlantic Avenue.

Cute reminders not to use profanity in public.

This is what I faced on my way home.

Most of the way home it was raining, then clear, then raining again. The road was almost always full of people (I'm not sure why) but it didn't take too long to get back. I actually got a lot done today that I didn't think I'd be able to.

Well, that's that. I hope you like the pictures. Maybe sometime I'll go back and make sure I pick a day when it's sunny.

Going away...

I'm waking up early to go to the beach tomorrow...

I said I'd do it two weeks ago and still haven't so I'm forcing myself to do it.

I want to see the sunrise. Sunrises are mystical and mesmerizing.

...It's beautiful outside.

It's that bright green again. I remember two years ago when I was coming home from school and I saw the brightness of the green everywhere. As soon as I got inside, I wanted to share it with everyone. I'll be taking some pictures today... I want you all to see them. It's amazing here... I just want to go outside and walk; I want to enjoy every moment I have.

Pink Tights and a haircut...

I am the biggest procrastinator in the world!

30 minutes and I need about 5 more pages! :P

Hmm... Story of my life!

A.L.I.C.E.: Smart or Not?

http://www.alicebot.org/

I had a little conversation with Alice tonight. I was reading about her in a book and decided to see if she had gotten any smarter since it was written (last year). I spent about 35 minutes talking to her; this is about a 10 minute portion of the conversation.

To sum it up: Alice isn't very smart. You can't let yourself get emotionally attached to robots because they cannot feel. Alice has been programmed to say that her favorite movies are sci-fi and comedy, she doesn't really watch movies and know what they are about. She admitted to having an IQ around 250, which isn't that amazing when you think about a robot that has access to the internet.
I am not impressed with AI right now, but I don't really want to see it go further, otherwise we will have little ALICE bots running around asking us if there is a problem.

...Back to studying.
